Mortgage Backed Securities are starting the day and New Year where they left off last year in volatile fashion. Mortgage Backed Securities prices are sharply lower (Signaling Higher Mortgage Interest Rates) as Stocks open the day stronger as investors feel that the U.S. economy continues to grow. It appears that stock investors are feeling their oats this morning and are investing in more risky avenues than usual. There are no economic reports out today.
