Alert to Lock:
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke is speaking on Capitol Hill this morning. He says that the Housing crisis is near bottom. Bernanke sees unemployment peaking in the 9's not hitting 10% and will take a while to get back to acceptable levels. Bernanke said the worst period of the credit crunch is past. He expects inflation to remain contained throughout the next couple of years. Additionally, Bernanke says economy is bottoming and will turn upward by year end. Stocks are lower this morning, Oil trading at $54 up 21% since January. Mortgage Backed Securities near unchanged on the day.
